BIO
Keely Dedeo graduated in 1997 with a BSW from Illinois State University with an emphasis on Applied Psychology and Sociology. Keely initially worked as a Senior Therapist for the Counseling and Wellness Center, Fond du Lac, WI providing services to children and families diagnosed on the PDD spectrum. Designing Therapeutic Behavioral programs and supervising implementation of custom behavior change plans by the treatment team were primary responsibilities in the home, school and social settings.
As a former athlete, in 2000 Keely decided to expand the direction of her behavioral health services to include the nutrition, fitness, wellness and weight loss spectrum. With an exceptional understanding of behavior change and healthy lifestyle models, Keely accepted the Fitness Coordinator position at the Fond du Lac YMCA providing 1:1 Personal Training Services and specialty group fitness classes. With a community based approach she developed and implemented the YMCA’s Corporate Outreach Program in partnership with Mercury Marine, providing off-site fitness classes and services to roughly 2,500 employees. She also collaborated on development of the Youth In Training and Committed to Kids Physician referral program. This medically based approach was designed for families with children battling childhood obesity and the emerging medical issues that accompany this growing condition.
Pursuing a more profound understanding of a shifting medical training model, Keely spent 5 years at Kohler’s Sports Core working as a Fitness Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Pre/Post Rehabilitation Specialist, Newleaf Metabolic Testing Specialist and Pilates Reformer Trainer. Medical weight loss and injury/disease prevention were significant areas of focus and continuing education. Ergonomics within the Kohler Foundries and post rehabilitation were crucial areas of concentration in the business/wellness initiatives. Corporate outreach encompassed onsite services at Acuity Insurance including 1:1 personal training, group fitness, wellness assessments and educational “Lunch and Learns”. Keely remained focused on community outreach in collaborating on the annual Kohler Health Fair with over 30 additional community service and wellness businesses and writing fitness articles for the Sheboygan Press fostering a balanced lifestyle with community referral. Specialty training also included Golf Specific programming, IMX Pilates Reformer and Kinesis Training by Techno gym.
In 2010 Keely began working at Innovative Health and Fitness as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor providing customized training and specialty small group classes including SPRI battleropes, SCW kettlebells, and outdoor obstacle prep racing courses for the Tough Mudder. Expanding onsite services to Franklin Rehabilitation under the direction of the Physical Therapy team, Keely began working as a BioMeta3 Trainer, a medical based nutrition/weight loss program providing custom rehabilitation, adaptive exercise, medical weight loss and nutritional services to members who suffered from a variety of physically limiting abilities. Progress was measured utilizing Biometric markers including anthropometric methods, bodyweight, water retention, BMI, circumference, lean mass and bodyfat %. In addition Keely led the BioMeta3 group class design for members further encouraging healthy social relationships while increasing exercise adherence.
As a Fitness Studio owner, Keely’s focus is in continuing to provide a wide range of specialty and customized programming for clients to enhance nutritional, physical, emotional and social health while strengthening relationships within the support network to increase long term adherence and optimal health success for life.
